The Meaning of Total Submission (Islam) in Private and Public Spheres

Educational · 2026-05-23

The text of the Holy Qur'an leaves no room for partial or conditional compliance. Total submission means that a believer’s legal, social, financial, and personal existence must be governed entirely by the commands of Allah (SWT).

1. Eradicating Private Inconsistencies

The structural parameters of faith dictate that internal desires, moral choices, and domestic arrangements must fully yield to Divine boundaries. Compartmentalizing religion as a purely internal feel-good sentiment violates explicit text commands.

• Enforcing absolute transparency and integrity within domestic and family relationships.

• Aligning personal moral compasses strictly with the ethical judgments of the Qur'an.

• Eliminating pride, hypocrisy, and covert disobedience from the inner self.

2. Absolute Alignment of Public and Commercial Actions

True submission demands that public interactions, political choices, and financial contracts strictly operate outside the boundaries of prohibited actions, directly challenging contemporary secular systems.

• Refusing participation in interest-based (Riba) or deceitful business transactions.

• Upholding legal justice even when it directly opposes personal or familial benefits.

• Striving to ensure that public policies reflect the absolute moral boundaries of Shariah.
